If you have checked out www.peaceunique.com lately you can see our new look. We gave Peace Unique a fresh new look with a new logo and new design. The pinks were getting a little tired and I felt like the blues and greens better identified the feel of who Peaceunique.com truly is. I hope you like it!

Summer has been busy and filled with lots of unique selling opportunities. Last weekend I participated in the “Open Air at Market Square” in Ohio City. What a cool event, great local bands, great food from the West Side Market and some really nice artists and vendors. It was a fantastic event and the hot items were definitely the long earrings I have been showing along with the classic and always popular toggle front necklaces.

Next weekend I am participating in the Mantua Ohio’s “Art on the Hill” located just south of the intersection of 422 and 44 from 9-5. I have never done an event in Mantua but I have a lot of customers from there and it is such a great little town that it should be a wonderful experience. On July 16th I will be at the Coventry Street Fair which is always a blast, on the 18th I am heading to Put-In-Bay (one of my favorite places to be) for a trunk show at the blue cottage gallery, then I am off to Kelley’s Island (another favorite of mine) for Islandfest 2009. Islandfest is July 24th, 25th and 26th and it takes place right downtown Kelley’s Island.

Shows and parties are so rewarding for me because I spend so much time creating new designs that when I get a chance to see people’s reactions when they try on the jewelry, and I hear the comments, and of course make the sales, it is great and I love it! Sometimes it gives me ideas for future designs. When people say “ I love this but I wish you had something in red, or have you ever thought of mixing this with that”. Women have some really original ideas and a lot of times I pull from that to help create the unique designs of peaceunique.com.

I will keep you posted on the shows as we go along this summer. Look for more new designs from peaceunique.com and even though this summer is crazy busy I will try to post more often. Enjoy each day!!

Wire Wrapped Sterling Silver for Spring

I am having so much fun with these wire wrapped pieces. I would have never imagined when I made my first one how far they would evolve. The color combinations are endless!!! I get inspired by all of the beautiful Swarovski crystal colors and I love to mix them with freshwater pearls and lots of sterling silver beads. The bracelet is a cuff bracelet but it has a clasp to help keep it secure. This cuff bracelet combines earth tone colored Swarovski crystals in beautiful denim blues, golden Colorado topaz and olive green to name a few and it mixes with brown and golden freshwater pearls. I love it!! I also plan to make this cuff in some brighter color combinations for summer. Watch for them at http://www.peaceunique.com/.

The pendent is a perfect compliment to the cuff bracelet and everyone is calling it a dream catcher. I don't know that it truly qualifies as a dream catcher but if that is what people are feeling, what can I say?! These pendents as well as the bracelets are fun to make because no two are the same. They combine the same colors and have the same idea but each one has its own flow. I love them worn with the leather cords or sterling silver chains. I love them with both the chain and leather at the same time.

Stay tuned for more great combinations to come. I am really in the design mode lately which means lots of new items will be added in the next couple of weeks.

Bohemian, the look for spring

Hi, this is Katie Janoch owner and designer of Peace Unique Jewelry Designs. I'm new at this blogging stuff, so here goes! Today I just wanted to talk a little about the look and colors for this spring.

The look for spring is Bohemian. Long beaded necklaces, big earrings.....you get the picture. This look is one of my personal favorites because it brings out the free spirit in all of us. In some of us that free spirit may be a little deeper, but it's there all the same.

I have designed some great long necklaces with a Bohemian flair. I used a lot of gorgeous semi precious stones mixed with Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls. Check out my website often, http://www.peaceunique.com/, because we are adding new items constantly.

The colors for this spring are bright and fresh. Jewelry, like your clothing, should express who you are, so feel good about expressing yourself!

Until next time, have fun shopping and thank god we have almost made it to spring!
